Existing Systems where support is needed
Building on IT Limited are familiar with many technologies used over the past 25 years. We have assisted a number of organisations using installed systems, where support has become challenging, for example the developers are no longer in business or an employee has left.
Without obligation, we will look at your system and advise you of your options. Sometimes, all that is needed is a simple code or hosting adjustment and then the existing system can meet your needs for many more years. Alternatively, it could be that data can be moved to a new bespoke system or even to an off-the-shelf system that was not originally available.
Here are some potential ways forward:
Support
We may be able to support your existing system on a long-term basis, adjusting the system as needed to handle emerging security threats or required new features.
Replace
We can produce a totally new system which will better meet your organisation's current needs, working on a more up-to-date or cloud platform. Data will be migrated to the new system as part of the development process.
Hybrid
The existing system continues, but with an additional support system. For example mobile apps which complement the existing system by targeting the existing data and providing access on newer devices.
Off-the-shelf
We can guide your organisation through the process of retiring the existing system and using more standard software, including essential data migration.
