Background

Hunt Motor Assessors are used by motor insurance companies to control the cost of dealing with claims. They look at damaged vehicles, assess whether repair is economically feasible and if so how much it will cost. The business also invloves instructing repairers on which repairs can and can not be charged to the insurance company.

Legacy System

Hunt already had a system in place when they contacted Building on IT. However it had become dated and was unable to deal the demands of email and digital photographs.

Building on IT was asked to provide a system enabling the emailing of reports and photographs to the various parties invloved in settling an Insurance claim.

Built-In Email and PDF Creation

Our solution involved an interface enabling everything to be viewable within a couple of mouse clicks. Digital photgraphs can be attached. Built-in PDF creation facility enables reports to be generated as PDF documents and emailed directly to the client and other parties from within the system.

Engineer Scheduling

A time-consuming part of the process has traditionally been the scheduling of engineering staff to particular jobs and providing them with the neccesary information to make visits to see damaged vehicles.

Hunt Motor Assessores wanted to make this process easier while still retaining manual control over which engineers went to see which job and when.

The Building on IT solution was to provide a computer assisted interface enabling staff to see jobs requiring a visit listed by area and select engineers from a drop-down list. The computer then printed out day-sheets for each engineer with all the neccesary information and form blanks automatically.
